STARFLEET Petfleet Service Award – Maleficent
Maleficent: The Lovable Terror Fur-Ball Presented by Fleet Captain Randy Mitson, Director SFPet
Meet Maleficent, our Quarterly STARFLEET Petfleet Pet Service Award recipient for her outstanding service and companionship. Born in June 2021, Maleficent was adopted from the Cat Cafe in Liberty, MO, in September 2021. Since then, she has become an integral part of her family, joining her two fur-siblings, Lilo and Stitch, who are miniature long-haired Chihuahuas. Despite her larger size, Maleficent gets along well with them, although her playful nature sometimes overwhelms her smaller companions.
A Personality with a Twist
Maleficent is known for her lovable personality, with a hint of mischief that keeps her family entertained. Her affectionate nature is balanced with a playful, sometimes mischievous side, earning her the nickname “terror fur-ball” in the most endearing way. Her family cherishes her for the joy and laughter she brings into their lives.
A Well-Traveled Companion
Maleficent is not just a homebody; she is a seasoned traveler. She has made several cross-country trips, from Kansas City to Seattle and back, proving to be an excellent travel companion. Her love for travel and adaptability make her a unique and cherished member of her family.
A Source of Comfort and Support
On April 22, 2024, Maleficent earned her service animal rating, officially becoming an emotional support animal for her handler, Kerry. Her presence provides comfort and emotional soothing, showcasing her ability to offer unconditional love and support. While she adores Kerry, she has a playful tolerance for her handler’s husband, David, adding a touch of humor to their relationship.
Celebrating Maleficent
We are proud to honor Maleficent with the STARFLEET Petfleet Pet Service Award. Her dedication, love, and unique personality make her a deserving recipient. Congratulations to Maleficent and her family for this well-earned recognition!
