Hi! My name is a mouthful, so my shipmates tend to call me Boots! I am the Ship’s Dog aboard the USS Caroline in Region 20. Being Ship’s Dog is lots of fun, and everyone always has scritches and treatos for me when I visit, especially when I go to Sick Bay! Dr. Dawn is great, and says I do a good job helping calm the patients.
I moved to the USS Caroline two whole years ago, when I was just a pup. Mama… I should say CO I guess… said I was a bit of a nightmare and was chewing the command chairs all the time! I got better, however, and now I stick to… sticks! Oh, and BALL! I love BALL. The magic holo buddy plays BALL with me loads and loads, when I am not working.
Work! Yes. I am a working dog! See, we’re a science ship. And my mates Ed and Gordo have Tribbles in the lab rooms. When they need exercise, I get to herd and chase them around the whole deck. I haven’t lost one yet, either!
It can be hard work at times, especially when the Borg Tribbles are out, as they distract me with their mini lasers. Lasers are fun to chase!
It’s hard to decide what my favourite place on the ship is, other than my bed. I love looking out the windows, especially when there are other ships out there! Starbases are super fun because I get to meet so many new people and sooo many new sniffs!
I think my most favourite thing is when we go back to Earth and visit! Mama.. um.. I mean the CO… takes me to see all our friends! I get to play with my fren Eddie and his hooman. Yesterday we went on a mission to Moira to water all the plants! I was such a good boy, and got to run around the demesne afterwards.
Oh I almost forgot!! We took the CO to the pub for their birthday last year! It was great! We went into Belfast and Ed and Dr Dawn and Carol were there, and people loved me and gave me chips to eat!
Maybe next time I see you, I’ll get promoted to Lieutenant Jr Grade!
