The day started off quite normal, and I started my patrol duties in the Science Labs. I’m in charge of making sure the Tribbles don’t escape their pens. Some of them can be quite sneaky, but I admit it is a lot of fun when some get loose! Sometimes Gordon lets some of the harmless ones out on purpose! Shhh, don’t tell the CO!

After my routine check of The Munch Box and a sample of today’s menu, I trotted off to the arboretum. Something was NOT right, I could smell it. There was a slight trail through the wheat field, but no real damage. Whatever it was wasn’t large. The smell was not familiar, so I didn’t think it was an escaped science experiment. I ran through the fields, following the smell. It was getting stronger, so I dodged the apple trees and leapt over the salmon creek.

The scent was getting stronger, but there wasn’t a physical trail anymore. It didn’t make any sense to me, but I kept following. The scent took me to the desert area, but it didn’t smell like Commander Humphrey. What was going on?? In the sand I saw small footprints that did look familiar. They reminded me of the QM’s footprints, but the smell was not Enya. I followed the trail until I saw a small black and white thing curled up on Humphrey’s BBQ pit. I approached with caution.. and it WAS a cat! But it wasn’t Enya!
