T’Ana’s May 2025 Health Challenge
Hey Everyone T’Ana, your favourite Medical mascot here,

Just wanted to let you know that STARFLEET Medical is launching a permanent step challenge starting in May—and you’re all invited to join in!
Here’s how it works: track your steps and report your monthly total at the end of each month. If your Region has an Assistant Surgeon General (ASG), you’ll send your step count to them. If not – no problem! Just email your steps directly to our Stepper in Chief, FCPT Gregg Kleiner, at Gckleiner.sfi@gmail.com.
There’ll be a live leaderboard on the STARFLEET Medical website where we’ll show off the top-stepping Regions each month. And here’s the fun part – at the end of each month and the year, the “Steppiest Region” and “Steppiest member” will earn a special certificate and bragging rights! We’re also planning occasional themed months to spotlight health causes or support charities.
So lace up your shoes, start walking, and let’s see which Region can go the farthest! 🖖
If you love to read, you’ll definitely want to join the STARFLEET Reading Challenge as well! 📚
First things first – head over to and join our Facebook group:
Once you’re in the group, you’ll find all the files and info you need to participate in the challenge. It’s super simple: just read! You can read whatever you like – any genre, any length, any age group. There’s no pressure on how much you read.
To track your progress, there’s a live spreadsheet (pinned in the featured section). Just fill it out with your name, SCC number, ship, region, book title, author, and pages read. The sheet takes care of the totals automatically!

🎖️ Everyone who participates gets a certificate, and there are monthly awards for:
- Most pages read by an individual
- Most pages read by a ship
- Most pages read by a region
We also have fun monthly themes! For example, May 2025 is Canines and Wolves Month, so you’ll get double page credit for books on that theme. Star Trek books and STARFLEET Fandom Academy materials always count double!
So grab a book, join the fun, and let’s see which ship reads the most. Happy reading and LLAP! 🖖
Walking and reading regularly offer a range of health benefits for both the body and mind. Walking improves cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, supports weight management, and boosts mood by releasing endorphins. It also enhances creativity and reduces stress.
Reading stimulates brain function, improves memory and concentration, reduces stress, and can even delay cognitive decline. Together, these habits contribute to overall well-being by promoting physical fitness and mental acuity.
