The STARFLEET Petfleet Command Staff is dedicated to leading Petfleet’s activities, communications, and regional connections. This team ensures smooth operations, providing support for members and their pets within STARFLEET. Each member of the Command Staff plays a unique role, from organizing events to overseeing communications, ensuring that SFPet stays active, engaging, and well-connected.

Director - Mary Demiter

As the Director of STARFLEET Petfleet, appointed by and reporting to the Department of Auxiliary Services (DAS), this role entails overseeing all operations and initiatives related to pets within STARFLEET. In collaboration with the DAS and Command Staff (CS), the Director ensures compliance with Starfleet regulations and produces Monthly Status Reports (MSRs) for SFPet, which are submitted to the DAS and shared on relevant social media platforms. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining member records, including pet registration handled by Member Services, managing a staff for SFPet as necessary, and providing guidance to staff on all projects.

Executive Deputy Director - Matt Doucet

As the Executive Deputy Director (EDD, 2nd in command) of STARFLEET Petfleet, this role is vital for keeping everything running smoothly and ensuring good communication within SFPet and with the larger fleet. Responsibilities include being the second-in-command to the Director, handling social media, keeping SFPet connected with the rest of STARFLEET, and supporting the Director, staff, and members of SFPet.

The Deputy Director oversees the quarterly production of the Petfleet Newsletter, “Pet Tails from the Final Frontier”, handling production, content curation, and distribution. Responsibilities also include managing the email list and sharing content on Petfleet’s platforms. Associate Editors/Writers support in researching, proposing, curating content, and designing engaging elements under the guidance of the Editor-In-Chief.

REGIONAL LIAISONS

STARFLEET Petfleet Liaisons serve as key links between SFPet and STARFLEET regions, chapters and auxiliaries. They promote pet registration, share SFPet activities, answer questions, and report on regional events. Liaisons stay informed via the handbook and regular participation, often receiving updates early. They must also hold a valid SFDPP (STARFLEET Data Protection Policy).
