SFPet Mascots – News
Our newest additions to the PETFLEET Mascot Program!
Following on the tail (get it) of STARFLEET Medical’s T’Ana, 5 more Groups have added Official Mascots to PETFLEET!
First off we have a Borgified Assault Tribble named 2 of 429, who is the official Mascot of the USS Alan Turning in Region 12. A fusion of Borg technology and a Tribble, the ball of chaos came to be during a late night experiment of “what if”. Genetically modified to NEVER self replicate, 2 of 429 is considered a vital part of both crew morale and a valuable asset as a “tactical assault tribble”.
Next up we have LT Stan The Scorpion from USS Antares! He’s a LT Specialist in Ops on the bridge, specialization: Engineering. He was born November 12, 2012 on the planet Corallixx. His species may be related to Species 8472, from the Delta Quadrant, who live in ‘fluidic space’ found by Voyager. Their species is fondly referred to as “ouch-y space spiders” His species ages slightly faster than Humans, he’s approximately 27 years old in Sol time. He was born under the Sign of Scorpio, of course.
Antares the star is located in the constellation Scorpius. He’s a representation of the tenacity of our group. Our logo was created to let everyone know we won’t go down easily. ‘If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?’
Out of Starfleet Intelligence, Ensign Shadow Recon! Ensign Recon is a sentient lifeform that was discovered in the Gamma Quadrant during an expedition to a new planet in the Argonium System. Shadow Recon was a part of the Argonium’s secret strike task force. His race has the ability to stand and operate on their hind legs with support from the use of an anti-gravity belt/collar allowing himself to become either a quadruped or biped at will. His mental ability is equal to that of a 25 year old human. He was granted a field commission of Ensign within STARFLEET where he was assigned to the Securities Special Operations Division, and assigned to the Intelligence Department.
His first mission was to rescue the Princess of Oriana VI, who was captured by an Orion strike force to sell the princess back to her home world for ransom. The mission was a success. The Orion strike force was handed over to the Klingon Security Force for questioning. Shadow can most definitely handle his blood wine as he drank 10 Klingons under the table.
Here is Crewman Betsy, a Velociraptor from the USS Animus. Crewman Betsy is a Velociraptor that was discovered aboard the ship and has joined part of the crew’s security detail!
The Mascot of SFSCI is a Tardigrade named Stamets. Tardigrades are also called Water Bears and Moss Piglets and are among the most resilient animals known on Planet Earth.” – Discovery’s Science Officer (played by Actor Anthony Rudd) is named after the real renowned mycologist Paul Stamets, who has extensively studied Earth’s mycelial network on Earth. While the spore drive and the universal mycelial network is pure Star Trek fiction written with some great imagination, we think the Tardigrade is one tough beast and represents SFSCI with distinction In honor of the real world mycologist Paul Stamets and the Discovery Science Officer, we have named our mascot Stamets.
