December 2024 was an exciting and productive month for STARFLEET Petfleet as we celebrated our 20th Anniversary and achieved several key milestones. From the successful launch of our collectable product line in the STARFLEET Quartermaster Shop to the conclusion of engaging contests and activities, our auxiliary continues to grow and thrive. With the new website streamlining our operations and a strong sense of community among our members, STARFLEET Petfleet remains a vibrant and dynamic part of STARFLEET. This report highlights the major projects, accomplishments, and challenges we faced in December, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to serving our members and their beloved pets.
Major Projects/Efforts
Launch of STARFLEET Petfleet Collectable Product Line
December marked the exciting launch of the STARFLEET Petfleet collectable product line in the STARFLEET Quartermaster Shop. This long-anticipated project highlights the creativity and dedication of our team, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of STARFLEET Petfleet with unique items that showcase our community’s spirit. These products have been well-received, with several members already placing orders. The collectables not only provide STARFLEET members with fun and functional items but also serve as keepsakes of their involvement with our auxiliary. To access the shop, members must log in at qm.sfi.org, where they will find a growing collection of items to choose from.

Website Scavenger Hunt and Photo Contests
The STARFLEET Petfleet Website Scavenger Hunt concluded at the beginning of December. Participants explored our website, answering trivia questions about STARFLEET Petfleet’s history and mission. Winners received unique prizes that celebrate their participation and knowledge. We also hosted two photo contests during November and December, encouraging members to showcase their pets in creative ways. The December contest featured a unique “doubleheader” format, challenging participants to submit photos of shelter/adoption pets and speech bubble captions. These activities have strengthened member engagement and fostered a sense of community.

Educational Content by Deborah Keyes

These educational posts not only inform but also inspire members to consider the well-being of their pets more thoughtfully. Issues/Problems
Quartermaster Product Listings
Although the product line launched successfully, delays in adding some items to the STARFLEET Quartermaster Store have limited members’ ability to purchase from the full collection. Two newly designed patches, along with other items, are still awaiting upload to the store. This delay impacts the availability of these products, which are highly anticipated by our membership. Efforts are underway to resolve these issues by following up with the Quartermaster team.

Membership Database Integration Challenges
STARFLEET Petfleet continues to face challenges in integrating its membership database with STARFLEET’s InfoServe system. This issue arose after key personnel resigned, leaving no clear pathway to resolving the matter. In the interim, we have effectively managed our records using a dedicated database integrated with the new website. While this workaround has proven functional, discussions with Admiral Bran Stimpson are ongoing to find a long-term solution that aligns with STARFLEET operations.
