We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your crew member. We know that this can be a very difficult time for you and we understand some of what you are going through.  I too have had to deal with losing a beloved pet before, it is like losing a family member or a best friend.

If you need anything from us please do not hesitate to ask.  If there's a way we can remember your loving companion with you, let us be a part of that.

You are able to use this form to add pictures or share a favourite story from your companion's time with you. These special souls that have been with us for any time, deserve to be remembered for all of the love and joy that they brought us. You can use this form to share photos or a story of your pet if you would like. We feel that these special souls deserve to be remembered for all the joy and love they bring us.

However, if you would prefer that your companion’s record be updated to state that they have gone on to their Final Mission, we will respect your wishes. If you would just like us to update your Petfleet record and not say anything, that's ok too.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent. Their eager body quivers. Suddenly they begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together....

STARFLEET groups can create a special representative through the Petfleet Mascot Program. This initiative allows STARFLEET groups like chapters, regions, and brigades to register a mascot that represents their ideas and values.  The mascot serves as a unifying emblem, bringing members together, while symbolizing the organization's commitment and engagement with STARFLEET Petfleet.

An Example, STARFLEET Medical’s Mascot

STARFLEET Medical was the first Auxiliary to create a Mascot under this new program.  The adopted Commander T’Ana SFMD, is a sassy Caitian Chief Medical Officer. They have a stuffie in a Lower Decks uniform that they can take to meetings and conventions and they use AI to create images that represent their mascot for social media posts and on their website’s mascot page.

Registration Process with STARFLEET Petfleet (SFPet)

• Choose a crafted or imaginary Mascot for our group, rather than choosing a member's pet, to ensure longevity and prevent ownership disputes.Think about how this Mascot will symbolize and represent your group.
• Complete the SFPet registration form (this form) with the required details for your mascot and include a visual representation (drawing, digital image, photograph) of the mascot to SFPet.  You will receive a special certificate representing your Mascot from SFPet.
• Create a page within your website or social media channel that introduces your new mascot to the rest of your members, you can take your mascot to meetings or conventions and even create stories to publish in your newsletter or on your group’s social media pages about your mascot’s adventures and experiences.

  Let the SFPet Newsletter editor know about your new Mascot so we can share their store in the new quarterly newsletter.

Rational for Organization Ties and Mascot Type

The decision to tie the mascot to the organization rather than an individual serves to prevent disputes over ownership. Additionally, recommending that the mascot be an imaginary or constructed character, rather than an actual living pet, ensures its longevity and enduring presence within the organization, transcending the lifespan of a typical pet. This approach underscores the enduring commitment of the organization to its values and ideals, represented by the steadfast presence of the mascot.

If you are an individual who has a living pet or other Mascot that you would like to register you can still do that as an individual with Petfleet but they will not qualify as a group mascot.
