STARFLET Petfleet Regional Liaison Job Posting (November 2024)
The SFPet Liaison is a STARFLEET member with a love for Star Trek and pets, representing their region. They connect their region and chapters to STARFLEET Petfleet, ensuring clear communication in both directions.

We are still seeking SFPet Ambassadors/Liaisons from the following regions: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18 & 19.

Responsibilities

Connect People: Maintain communication between members and departments within SFPet.

Manage Relationships: Work with regional departments to help SFPet reach its goals.

Share Information: Pass along updates from SFPet Command and address any questions.

Coordinate Activities: Organize events between the region and SFPet.

Skills Required

Communication, Problem-solving, Self-motivation, Public speaking, Organization, Conflict resolution.

Requirements

STARFLEET member in good standing

Must pass the STARFLEET SFDPP course

18+ years old

Liaisons are chosen by the Regional Coordinator with help from the Assistant Petfleet Director.

STARFLEET Petfleet Veterinarian Consultant (November 2024)
The STARFLEET Petfleet is seeking an experienced, passionate Veterinarian Consultant to support our mission of promoting responsible and well-informed pet ownership among STARFLEET members. This role focuses on offering general pet care advice to SFPet staff and contributing educational content for our membership. As a key consultant, you will play a vital role in helping SFPet deliver insightful, accurate, and diverse pet care resources across various platforms, including newsletters, social media, and online courses.

Responsibilities:

Provide a quarterly article on pet care for the STARFLEET Petfleet newsletter.

Offer guidance on pet care topics for STARFLEET Petfleet’s ongoing promotional and educational efforts.

Assist in developing STARFLEET Academy courses that address broad aspects of pet ownership, from general care to specific animal behaviours, beyond typical companion animals.

Advise STARFLEET Petfleet staff on general pet health and wellness questions and make recommendations on content suitable for the STARFLEET Petfleet community.

Engage with the STARFLEET community on Facebook and Discord to answer questions or offer support as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Veterinary training, experience, or similar background in animal science, animal care, or pet health consulting.

Current certification in STARFLEET’s SFDPP (Data Protection) course.

Strong writing skills for developing quarterly newsletter content and web articles on pet care topics.

Familiarity with Facebook and Discord for interaction with STARFLEET Petfleet’s community.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience consulting on pet care or animal wellness topics.

Demonstrated ability to work independently while offering accessible, engaging, and practical advice to a broad audience.

Commitment and Availability:

This is a consulting role with flexible hours, primarily requiring written contributions four times a year (quarterly). The consultant should be reachable on an as-needed basis by STARFLEET Petfleet staff for member-related questions.
